Situated in the Breekrans river valley, this 4,254 hectare farm lies in the midst of the eco-tourism industry of the Cederberg mountains, located about 250 km north of Cape Town and is a well-known tourist destination. Take in the beautiful scenery as you hike along well-established hiking trails. These are characterised by rocky terrain leading to bushman paintings and panoramic scenery. The historical Rooiberg-trail will take you to a height of 984 metres. The area is also a sought after sports site, with spectacular mountain biking and rock climbing routes, the latter having potential for single and multi-pitch (120m) routes. Team building events and weddings take place throughout the year. In caves and overhangs in the area, numerous San rock art can be found, evidence of the earliest human inhabitants. As a wilderness area, the primary activity is eco-tourism, including camping, rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking. The summers are very hot and dry, while the winters are wetter and cold with typical annual rainfall in the low lying areas of less than 700mm. The higher peaks receive a dusting of snow in the winter.
